In 1978, the Coat of Many Colors singer became the first female country musician to appear on the magazine cover. Parton wore the iconic outfit for the Playboy cover—a black bustier, bow tie, and bunny ears. The fact is that this outfit was designed by Keanu Reeves’s designer mother, Patricia Taylor.

In a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Dolly Parton shared, “She [Patricia Taylor] did a lot of sewing for me. She did a lot of my clothes.”
She continued, “I remember Keanu when he was just little, and she would bring him over to my house when we were fitting or when I would go to the shop where she worked.”
The Matrix star previously shared on Red Table Talk that he donned the Playboy cover outfit as his Halloween costume. He said, “I put on the ears and the bustier. I wore sneakers with fishnet stockings and the bowtie. I had some pretty long hair, and I was Dolly Parton as a Playboy Bunny.”
When the host, Barrymore, told the singer about Reeves’s Halloween costume, she sounded over the moon hearing that. “Aw, that’s sweet,” she said. “He’s great. He’s the sweetest guy.” After some years, the Hollywood actor revisited the singer and had a wholesome interaction with her.

Years later, Keanu Reeves has become a Hollywood superstar known for his out-of-this-world performances in movies like John Wick, The Matrix, Constantine, Speed, and many more to mention. The renowned actor then paid a visit to one of Parton’s shows, where he asked the award-winning artist if she remembered him.
“He said, ’Do you remember me? I’m the little boy that used to sit at your feet when my mum was [working],’” Dolly remembered on The Drew Barrymore Show. “Of course I knew he had become a star. But it didn’t connect to me that that was who that was,” she added.
It’s just the outfit that brought the two artists together. Parton again recreated that outfit in honor of her husband’s 79th birthday, which the then-32-year-old posed for the iconic magazine’s cover.
