Jason Statham as Adam Clay Adam Clay is the central character of “The Beekeeper,” whose main job is to “protect the hive,” both literally and figuratively. He is a quiet, mysterious man, meticulous with his bees every day. Adam Clay and Mrs. Parker have a close relationship. Mrs. Parker’s departure ignites a fire of vengeance within Clay.
Jason Statham was the sole choice of screenwriter Kurt Wimmer for the role of Adam Clay. Both had the opportunity to work together in “The Expendables 4” four years ago.
Emmy Raver Lampman as Verona Parker Verona Parker – Mrs. Parker’s daughter – is another important character in “The Beekeeper.” Throughout the movie, she sometimes appears as Adam Clay’s adversary and sometimes as his ally. Parker is a strong FBI agent with sharp instincts. However, those qualities have been “neutralized” at times when she had to face her mother’s death. Most recently, Lampman appeared in the famous Netflix series “The Umbrella Academy.”
Josh Hutcherson as Derek Danforth Josh Hutcherson – the “good boy” Peeta from the famous “Hunger Games” series – will play the main antagonist in “The Beekeeper.” Derek Danforth, 28 years old, is the heir and manager of Danforth Enterprises. Initially, Danforth appears as a seemingly harmless rich kid. However, as the plot progresses, audiences get to see completely different aspects of this rich kid.
Jeremy Irons as Wallace Westwyld To cover up for Derek Danforth’s deep mind, a seasoned politician is needed, and that person is Wallace Westwyld. Westwyld loved Jessica Danforth – the rich kid’s mother – throughout his life. To fulfill her dream, he had to keep Jessica Danforth’s reputation clean, meaning he had to keep Derek’s name clean.
Legendary actor Jeremy Irons plays the role of Westwyld in the film. He is one of the few actors in the world to have won all three major acting awards, including an Oscar for film, an Emmy for television, and a Tony for theater.
