Chris Hemsworth may be a Hollywood superstar, but his favourite role is that of a doting father to his three children.

And on Friday, the Thor: Ragnarok actor,  was seen teaching his daughter, India Rose, how to surf in Byron Bay.

The pair had a blast while catching waves on matching blue surfboards.

Chris showed off his muscular physique in a pair of boardshorts, and protected himself from the sun with an Akubra hat and shades.

He carried the blue surfboards under his arms after spending time in the ocean with his daughter.

Chris smiled as he spoke to his little girl, who walked alongside him down the beach.

India wrapped a leopard print towel around herself, and appeared to be warming up after hitting the surf in a colourful wetsuit.

Chris is married to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, with whom he shares three children: daughter India and five-year-old twin sons, Tristan and Sasha.

He has been teaching his kids to surf from a young age, just like his father had taught him and his brothers.

After spending an hour or so catching waves, Chris took off his rash vest and placed it in his backpack with his towel.

While heading back to his car, he was stopped by eager fans asking for selfies.

One bikini-clad woman requested a photo, which encouraged more tourists to flock towards Chris for a group shot.

Chris, Elsa, and their three children relocated to Australia from Los Angeles in 2014.

The Hollywood couple recently moved into their $20million ‘mega mansion’ in Broken Head, near Byron Bay.

Last month, Chris revealed he would be taking a break from the spotlight for ‘six to eight months’ to stay at home with his family.
