And this time, it was the ancient Megalodon. Rogan had some exciting guests over, and the topic just came up. They discussed the big fish as well as the movies that came out about it. Here’s everything you need to know about their conversations and how they ended up dragging Jason Statham with it.

Joe Rogan loves The Meg

Rogan revealed to his guests, Kim Congdon and Sara Weinshenk, that he had a Megalodon tooth at home. It belonged to his daughter. The podcaster was fascinated by the immense size of the fish that used to terrorize the oceans back in the pre-historic era.

“. . . they (Megalodon) were f*cking giant. And they were just eating everything.” Rogan said as they spoke about it and the Statham movie was brought up. “. . .if you watch the Jason Statham movie. The Meg. If you dumb yourself up to a considerable extent with the right substances, The Meg is an absolutely hilarious movie.”

Rogan sounds pretty convinced about what many could term a horror film. Much like Jaws back in the day, The Meg follows a giant shark-like fish that could take entire ships apart if it wished. However, Jason Statham stands in its way with his sharp lines and sharper looks.

Plot-wise, it could only be so convincing. It’s a movie about a CGI fish and is not meant for more than entertainment. And if you’re like Rogan, you could certainly use some of his methods before watching the film. Both of his guests agreed that they could do the same for some extra fun. But what is it you ask? Well, they decided to sniff a bit of smelling salts.

Rogan and one of his friends, Brian Simpson, did a little smelling salts challenge for themselves. This went pretty viral. And so naturally, his new guests wanted to give it a shot too. So, he pulled out a fresh batch to help his guests out with a terrible hit

“It’s going to hit your nostrils. You’re going to feel like your brain’s on fire. Brian Simpson took his headphones off and ran out of the room,” Rogan warned his guests as he broke open the new batch of smelling salts. And sure enough, Congdon and Weinshenk felt a huge surge of pain right through their noses. It’s safe to say they may never try it again. But if given the opportunity,  would you try smelling salts with Joe Rogan?
