Fame is not what binds this couple together though both of them are very well known – Chris Hemsworth for his role as Thor and Elsa Pataky for her Fast and Furious stint.

Now married for almost nine years, the actors were introduced to each other in 2010 by talent agent William Ward. Elsa, who was named Who’s Sexiest People in 2016, was attracted to the actor’s voice right from the start. “His voice is amazing! Before I met him, I heard his voice on the phone and that was what I loved. He was probably making it even deeper,” she said, according to Nowtolove Australia. She doesn’t discount his toned physique either. “He also has an amazing body, which I think is sexy,” she said, according to Daily Mail.

The couple has been an unconventional one that just went with the flow. Theirs has been a whirlwind journey together. Whether it was their wedding or having kids. They got married after knowing each other for only three months and had kids after one year of being married.

“There was no light-bulb moment,” he told Elle. “From the first time we met, we just made sense. She’s fun. She’s outgoing, and she has a sense of humor and a passionate attitude toward life, which is nice to try to keep up with.”

Elsa thinks that it’s her confidence that Chris finds attractive about her. “The confidence that comes with years and life experience is really important,” Elsa added, according to Daily Mail.

The couple have been very spontaneous about their life plans, including the wedding. They were vacationing in Indonesia with their families in 2010 December for the Christmas Holiday and decided to get married. Chris told Good Morning Britain (via Woman’s Day Australia), “There was no great plan to any of it to be honest, we were on holiday and we said ‘why don’t we get married too?’ There probably should have been some planning but it all worked out. Honestly, we had both our families on holiday at the same time, just randomly, and we said this is a good opportunity with everyone together so we just did it.”

Soon in 2012, their daughter India Rose was born and they had twin sons, Sasha and Tristan, in 2014. Chris thinks that becoming a family man has kept him grounded through his years in Hollywood. “It’s certainly kept my feet planted firmly on the ground — I’ve been able to bypass a whole lot of garbage [and] traps that I could have fallen into,” he told Elle.

While speaking to Vogue Australia in May 2018, Elsa opened up about their marriage. “We did everything very quickly — I don’t know how we survived as a couple,” she admitted. “We were married and then a year after we had kids. It puts a lot of pressure on a marriage, but we came out good because there is a lot of love between us and we are very strong personalities but love each other so much. We make it work,” she said.

What works for the couple is that they make time for each other despite their busy schedules. The Thor actor, who’s been part of the Marvel Comics Universe films, revealed this year that he’s taking 2019 off to be with his family. He told Australia’s Daily Telegraph (via Standard UK) that his three children are at “a very important age”.

“This year I probably won’t shoot anything,” he told the publication. “I just want to be at home now with my kids. They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before,” he said.
