As you probably know from this weekend, director/producer Matthew Vaughn is a very chatty man whe’llo reveal quite a few secrets. He already teased that he won’t direct his “Kick-Ass” reboot, but he does have a cast and director seemingly all set and he also revealed that “Deadpool 3” scares him a little bit because it has ideas similar to his “Kick-Ass” movie idea, hmmm. He also revealed there are two other spy properties he is cooking up that could connect to his new espionage film, “Argylle” and his old franchise, “The Kingsman.” But there’s more. In a new Happy Sad Confused podcast conversation, Vaughn has revealed he is producing a new action movie that has already been shot, and he’s given away two names that are in: Chris Hemsworth and Sam Rockwell.

It’s a very, very special movie” that would “have the same sort of impact as ‘Kick-Ass’ did,” Vaughn said. The filmmaker also revealed that it’s written and directed by his stunt team, and it seems like it will highlight stunts and action, and will be “breaking some world records in the process.

“I’ve been producing a very, very special movie. I’m very excited about it. I just saw a half-an-hour cut together.” Vaughn revealed. “This will have the same sort of impact as ‘Kick-Ass’ did. And I can’t talk too much about it yet. You ask Sam Rockwell, and he just gives everything away in an interview; we’re like, ‘Sam, we’re under contract; you’re not allowed to speak about that.’ And he’s like ‘what?’ And then… But it is a movie; I can say it is a movie that is written, directed, and starring my stunt team. It is a film like no movie that has ever been made. And it’s also got Chris Hemsworth and Sam Rockwell in it. Plus some other very, very interesting cameos.”

“And it’s reinventing an action movie,” he continued. “Because it is a film where it is pretty extraordinary watching these stunt guys as they are acting a doing stunts at the same time, and you’re not having to hide anything.”

Vaughn said the movie has “56 action sequences that are incredible” and that it’s “funny” but also “original.” Vaughn is, if nothing else, quite the showman and salesman.

“Stuntmen are the real superheroes, literally,” Vaughn said about how the film is a testament to what stuntpeople do and accomplish on screen and how they “deserve” attention and acclaim. “And for some reason stuntmen are not given the due respect that they deserve and this movie…I just cannot tell you how excited and proud I am of these guys.”

Sounds intriguing, but until we have details, we’ll have to wait to learn more. Check out the entire conversation below, which also features Henry Cavill, the star of “Argylle.”
