Thankfully, it seems like the star has already made plans for the future if he’s unfortunately forced to leave acting behind, which would take him on the route of filmmaking in the film industry.
Chris Hemsworth Wants To Direct A Film In The Future
While his career as an actor has reached heights most could only dream of in their lifetime, Chris Hemsworth may just be looking for that next big jump in Hollywood career after conquering everything in front of the camera. Thus, he may just shift himself from being in front of the camera to behind it as a filmmaker.
In his recent appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia (via Deadline), the In the Heart of the Sea star sat down with the Academy Award-winning filmmaker and fellow citizen of Australia Baz Luhrmann to have a career Q&A with him. Here, Hemsworth subtly hinted at his wish to direct a film in the future in his vision.
The Elvis director was quick to lend him a supporting nod, saying that if he felt like he wanted to do it, he should go for it. He said:
“It’s great to hear you’re thinking about directing. Not every actor wants to direct but I always say to them if you’ve got any desire whatsoever do it because there’s nothing like being on the other side, It’s just storytelling in the end. No matter what you’re doing.”
Considering his medical condition with the potential development of Alzheimer’s in the books, he may seek to fulfill his wish sooner rather than later.

Although he may have stated his intentions of filmmaking in the future, at the present moment he has a lot on his plate to look forward to.
One of his most anticipated films in the future will be the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road prequel film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, where the star will be seen portraying one of the major antagonists named Dementus. Along with that, there have been rumors suggesting his return as the iconic God of Thunder in the MCU somewhere in the future.
