But Hollywood heavyweights Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth skipped the glitz and glamour for something a little more low-key over the weekend.
Instead of suiting up for the lavish Oscars, Chris and Matt spent time with their stunning wives, Elsa Pataky and Luciana Barroso, in Byron Bay on Saturday.

The famous foursome opted for low-key attire for their double date, where they were joined by Chris and Elsa’s kids.
Chris and Elsa share three children: twins Tristan and Sasha, four and six-year-old daughter India Rose.

His wife Elsa exuded her trademark bohemian chic style in a flowing pastel pink maxi skirt.

Elsa’s blonde tresses were tied back into a loose bun, which kept her hair out of her face.
For accessories, Elsa donned a number of necklaces and bracelets but went barefoot as she strolled.

US-born Matt Damon wore a tight-fitting blue T-shirt, patterned shorts and a Boston Redsox baseball cap.
His wife Luciana showed off her impressively toned physique in black activewear.
For a touch of glam, she added jewellery including a gold necklace and bracelets while several rings adorned her fingers.

Matt was also spotted over the weekend bargain-hunting at Ballina Kmart, located on Australia’s mid north coast.
One young shopper spotted Matt perusing the aisles and asked for a photo, which was subsequently shared on Instagram.
The Good Will Hunting star gave a smile and thumbs up for the camera as he posed with the boy in front of a rack of $8 shoes.

Byron Bay, and its surrounds, have become Matt and Luciana’s second home of late, with the family often frequenting the coastal town to spend time with Chris, Elsa and their brood.
The Damons have even rented a luxury $24,000-a-month mansion next to their Aussie friends and intend on staying at the beachfront property until mid-April.
The lavish pad, which is just moments from the beach, boasts four bathrooms, five bedrooms, a wraparound entertainer’s deck with a built-in barbecue and a heated outdoor pool.

Last year, Chris fuelled speculation the couple were planning to settle in Australia permanently.
Speaking to entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins on Channel Nine’s Today Extra in June, Chris said: ‘He [Matt] was in love with this country.’
But despite reports, Matt began the new year by snapping up an expensive Brooklyn apartment.
It was reported by the New York Post that Matt and Luciana had bought the property for a record-breaking US$16.7million (AUD$23.7million), making it the most expensive apartment in the borough.
