Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend Alexandra Grant has given a rare interview about her “inspirational” relationship with the blockbuster star.
The John Wick actor, 59, quietly began dating visual artist Grant, 50, at some stage over the past few years, with the pair hardly ever speaking about each other publicly.
Now, Grant has finally lifted the lid on their private romance while attending the Los Angeles Beverly Arts Icon Awards at the Four Seasons hotel at the weekend.
“The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time that my relationship had begun,” she told People on the red carpet, which she walked solo.
“I feel very confident in the relationship on the red carpet. I feel confident on it alone.
“It’s interdependent and independent in the best ways.”

Grant, who was an honoree at the ceremony, also opened up about what she loves most about Reeves, speaking to how they inspire one another in their careers.
“In a moment of frustration in my life, I once said, ‘Sometimes I feel like a Maserati stuck in traffic,’ that I have this big engine, but, for a variety of reasons, that I couldn’t ever go,” she began.
“What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we’re pushing each other to build new roads.
“Seeing the other person’s problem-solving is inspiring, like, ‘Oh, well, okay, this one, that’s a cul-de-sac. How do I try this other thing?’
“He’s such an inspiration to me. He’s so creative, he’s so kind. He works so hard.”

The couple, who have known each other since 2011, first made headlines when they casually stepped out at a film gala in November 2019, in which they officially went public with their relationship by holding hands for photographers.
In March this year, Reeves addressed their romance for the first time when People asked the actor when he last felt a moment of “bliss”.
“A couple of days ago with my honey,” Reeves candidly told the publication.
“We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”
Grant collaborated with Reeves before they became an item, having done the illustration for his two volumes of poetry – Ode To Happiness, released in 2011, and Shadows, in 2016.
Reeves’ last known long-term relationship was in the ’90s with late actress Jennifer Syme, but their love ended in tragedy with the then 28-year-old driving her car into a row of parked cars in LA in 2001.
In a 2006 interview with Parade magazine, Reeves said of Syme’s passing: “Grief changes shape, but it never ends.
