Chris Hemsworth is fronting a new campaign for Dubai tourism.
The actor, best known for playing Thor in the blockbuster Marvel movies, is the face of the campaign which rolls out next month until March 2022.
The advertisement shows Hemsworth exploring the city’s most iconic sights, including the Exhibition Centre, the Burj Khalifa skyscraper and Jumeirah Beach Park.

‘You want to see the future? Come on. Let’s ride the metro. This is Dubai and this is the world’s greatest show,’ he says.
‘Opportunity, mobility, sustainability and the finest examples of human ability.’
The advertisement was directed by American special effects artist and filmmaker Robert Stromberg, whose credits include Avatar and Alice in Wonderland.

It comes after Hemsworth reportedly declined an offer to appear in a star-studded advertising campaign promoting the Covid-19 vaccine in Australia.
The Byron Bay local was asked by the federal government in June to take part in the campaign featuring some of the country’s most famous figures.
In return, the government agreed to let Hemsworth ‘jump the queue’ to receive a speedy vaccination of his choice, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

At the time, Hemsworth was reportedly trying to secure himself a jab as quickly as possible so he could start working on a secret film project.
He was apparently ‘reluctant’ to get the AstraZeneca vaccine, yet could not access a Pfizer shot in his home town of Byron Bay, the newspaper claimed.
In the end, Hemsworth reportedly turned down the government’s offer and sourced a vaccine ‘elsewhere’, without promoting the jab as part of a campaign.
