Aussie actor loses his cool and bangs table during awkward telly chat when the host suddenly dropped a gigantic spoiler about Cate Blanchett’s character
CHRIS Hemsworth released the rage of the Gods and banged the table during an Aussie TV interview when the host started to reveal a massive spoiler for his new film Thor: Ragnarok.
The Australian actor, accompanied by co-star Mark Ruffalo, was seen getting irate, and told the interviewer off as he repeated the spoiler – concerning new Marvel star Cate Blanchett – three times.
Referring to Cate’s villainnous character Hela, the interviewer began: “Obviously it’s a star-studded cast, our very own, the gorgeous Cate Blanchett plays your sister, Chris… And for a lot of this movie, your sister… she’s trying to kill you, your brother.”
After patiently listening to the interviewer speak, he bashed the table and said (referring to the sister reveal): “You can’t say that.. you can’t give that away! Don’t.”
The 34-year-old brother of Liam jokingly added: “This is not live is it, we can rewind the tapes?”
Mark Ruffalo, meanwhile, refrained from telling the interviewer off, probably because he was disciplined by Marvel for live streaming the film’s premiere a full fortnight before the film’s release.
And while the result of Mark’s mistake didn’t give away any major plot points, it did mean most fans can turn up late to the Marvel adventure and still know what’s going on.
The 49-year-old actor, who plays the Hulk, accidentally left his Instagram livestream running in his pocket as the movie began, allowing fans to hear the audio from the first ten minutes.
The stream was inundated with comments from disbelieving fans who loved getting a sneak insight into the much-anticipated superhero flick.
Once Ruffalo realised something was amiss, he gave his camera a sheepish look before quickly ending the stream for good. One fan wote: “Omg. This is so funny.”
Another posted: “YALL IM CRYING”.
Others commented in an attempt to alert the star.
The current UK release date of Thor: Ragnarok, which runs for 130 minutes, is October 27 while in the US it is due out on November 3.
It takes place before the final movie in the Marvel cinematic universe’s third phase, Avengers: Infinity War, and is expected to act as a bridge towards the final clash with Thanos.
Following the events of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is held captive on the planet Sakaar.
Without his trusty hammer, Thor must rely on his old friend the Hulk as they return to Asgard in order to stop the evil Hela from bringing Ragnarok and destroying Asgardian civilisation.
The premiere was a star-studded affair with leading man Chris Hemsworth joined by his brother Liam and Miley Cyrus.
Despite being at each other’s throats in the film, Chris and Mark were very pally away from it, posing for pics with their arms around each other.
Meanwhile, during a recent interview with Howard Stern, Miley opened up about her unusual tactic of employing spies on Liam’s movie sets – admitting she gets a little nervous when she knows he’s acting with a stunner.
She said: “I get that little butterfly in my stomach.”
Laughing, the singer added: “I keep my little spies. So I don’t always have to be there.”
