Chris Evans Lost it after Catching Henry Cavill Do the Most Unthinkable Thing at the Oscars
The Academy Awards is one of the most prestigious platforms in Hollywood, known for honoring and celebrating the most brilliant and entertaining films across the globe. Interestingly enough, during the course of its long history, the event has itself been a source of some very entertaining and borderline crazy moments. At the same time, the stage has been a source of some hilarious moments, one of which stemmed from Henry Cavill eating cookies and Chris Evans subsequently catching him off guard.
How Chris Evans Reacted After Catching Henry Cavill Eating Cookies
In 2016, both Henry Cavill and Chris Evans were attached to two rival superhero franchises, DCEU and MCU respectively. Cavill was leading the SnyderVerse as Superman and Evans was lining up with the Avengers as Captain America.
Accordingly, heading into the big night, not many expected to see the pair’s name in the same headlines for any collaboration. By the end of the 2016 Academy Awards, not only did Cavill and Evans make headlines aplenty but their interaction also became meme material.
As the awards night progressed, the Playing It Cool actor randomly turned back and saw the Man of Steel star stuffing his mouth with cookies. Evans couldn’t keep it cool and was seemingly left bemused at how hungry Cavill was. The latter looked up and saw Evans’s reaction and started laughing.

To be fair to Cavill, his literal attack on cookies was understandable, as dishes at the Oscars ceremony are usually served after the red carpet, countless interviews, and then the hours-long main award event itself.
Such a situation forces even our formidable onscreen superheroes to turn to anything they can get their hands on to eat. The only thing missing from that amusing moment was Superman not offering Captain America some cookies.
How Did Henry Cavill End Up With Cookies at the Oscars
Fortunately for hungry celebrities in the ceremony, Rock and his daughters came to their rescue in 2016 by bringing the Girl Scout cookies to the event and selling them.
The comedian called on his co-stars to help his daughter do well in the competition of Girl Scout cookie season. He said (via PEOPLE):
“I want you to reach into your millionaire pockets and I want you to buy some of my daughter’s girl scout cookies. Are we going to deny my princesses from cookies? Alright, Tina Fey, get that money, girl. Charlize Theron, yes. Matt Damon, yes. Leo, you made $30 million—come on!”
Apart from Cavill, the likes of Morgan Freeman, Batman Begins star Chris Evans (another hungry superhero), and Olivia Munn were all spotted enjoying cookies on the night.
